Writers Workshop: Was the book better though?
May 4 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
We’ve all heard it before: “The book was so much better!”—and often, it’s true. However, some horror adaptations have not only done justice to their source material but, in some cases, surpassed it. This panel will explore the best and most successful book-to-film adaptations in the horror genre, the challenges of translating prose to screenplay, and the unique demands of storytelling in each medium. And, of course, we’ll dive into the most controversial question of all: Are there films that actually outshine their literary counterparts? Bring your picks—we want to hear which adaptations chilled you just as much (or more) than the books!
